The East Coast Doughboys kept up the tradition of marching in the annual New York City Veterans Day Parade, held Nov. 11, 2023. We had a fine turnout, and once more welcomed back the Living History crew from the USS Olympia, docked in Philadelphia. Unlike 2022, which poured rain all day, we had typical fall weather this year. The group was also honored to be part of the ceremonies held at 11:11 A.M. on the red carpet in front of the reviewing stand, accompanied by Pershing’s Own rifles and singers.
The East Coast Doughboys were also pleased to welcome living historians that traveled from Tokyo (a first!), California, and Massachusetts.
We eagerly look forward to the 2024 parade. The featured branch of the services is the Marine Corps.
