The third annual Pre-Veterans Day Welcome of WWI walking tour of memorials and group meals will be Sunday, November 10. This is also the Marine Corps birthday. All are welcome to attend, in uniform preferred. We will be out all afternoon, culminating with dinner, followed by cocktails and live jazz from the period. Wear any uniform, overcoat, any impression.

Noon: Lunch at JG Melon Bar and Grill, Upper East Side of Manhattan. 1291 Third Ave, New York, NY 10021. Casual lunch spot and bar.
1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. Walking Tour (departs from JG Melon’s): Seventh Regiment Armory, Central Park Regimental Grove, 107th Regiment Memorial. Subway to Chelsea Doughboy, Eternal Light Flagstaff, other WWI sites. This is approximately 3 miles walking. (Bring a MetroCard with 2 rides). Tour led by Kevin Fitzpatrick, author of “WWI New York: A Guide to the City’s Enduring Ties to the Great War.” (Free)
4:30 p.m. Drinks at Old Town Bar, 45 E 18th St, New York, NY 10003.
6:00 p.m. Dinner at Hill Country Barbeque, 30 W 26th St, New York, NY 10010. Rated one of New York’s top BBQ restaurants. (we went last year)
7:30 p.m. (approximately) Marine Corps Bourbon Ball, Honeybee’s, 95 Avenue A (corner of East 6th Street, 2nd floor), New York, NY 10009. With the Glenn Crytzer Quartet performing live hot jazz, dancing, cocktails. Honeybee’s is known for it’s extensive bourbon, rye, and whiskey selection. Glenn performs jazz from the era. The club has a vintage feel with wood floor and décor. No cover charge.
