2024 Calendar Updated; Events May-November Announced

The East Coast Doughboys will have the busiest calendar of events in 2024 in five years. The 2024 calendar was released today with events in Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. The ECD are honored to be asked to attend the dedication of the U.S. National WWI Memorial, next door to the White House, on Friday, Sept. 13 (which is also Gen. John J. Pershing’s birthday).

We are going to kick off our public-facing events in May. On May 3 we are going to Fort Lincoln, Maryland, to dedicate the unmarked grave of one of the famous “Hello Girls” of the U.S. Signal Corps. Later that same afternoon we are traveling about 80 miles to set up camp at Eisenhower National Historic Site. The East Coast Doughboys are the invited living historians for an updated weekend at Eisenhower National Historic Site, aka Ike’s Farm, Gettysburg, May 4-5. Read more here and to register to attend (required).

The ECD will mark the eighth time at the Flanders Field Memorial Ceremonies in Manhattan in June (date TBD). We are returning to Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Red Hook, NY, July 20-21 with two nights of camping. September 13-15 we will be the featured WWI living historians when the incredible WWI National Memorial is dedicated. And we wrap up the year in November once again in the largest and oldest Veterans Day Parade in the U.S. — on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, run by the United War Veterans Council.
